General Terms and Conditions for booking Raven on the Bay Yacht Charter

These Terms and Conditions for booking Raven on the Bay Yacht Charter come into effect once we have received your initial payment (deposit) and confirmed your booking. Since then, a contract has existed between you, the charterer, and us, Raven on the Bay, the yacht operator and owner. Upon booking, you agree to accept the Terms and Conditions of this booking on behalf of your crew.

Booking procedure

Booking is confirmed upon receipt of the deposit. Once we confirm the boat’s availability on the required date and time, you must secure your booking by paying a deposit. After receiving the payment, we will send you a receipt for your deposit and an email confirming your reservation.

A deposit in the amount of the charter’s first-hour rate is required to secure the booking.

Costs and Payment Method

Raven charters out at $225/hour, plus taxes and fees. Taxes and fees may vary depending on additional services. Raven on the Bay accepts most major credit cards for deposits and balance payments. Raven on the Bay does not accept any other form of payment.

Additional services

You can book our limousine transportation service to pick you up and/or drop you off at your location. For information about costs and other details, please contact us by phone at 858-331-9002 or email at info@ravenonthebay.com.

List of guests

Raven on the Bay only requires the charterer's name and the total number of guests before boarding.

Check-in details

On check-in day, your party is asked to arrive at the marina at least one and a half hours before launch. This provides you enough time to find parking and attend the safety briefing and orientation no later than 15 minutes before boarding.

No boat driving license is required for chartering our yachts, as our reservations include a US Coast Guard credentialed captain.

Charter time and check-out

The charter time is the total number of hours your reservation is made for. If your party is late, we can delay the departure time as long as needed. However, considering our schedule and potential following charters, we must return on time. Raven has a 2-hour minimum and no maximum charter time.

Upon return to the dock, please be prepared and ready to disembark and exit the marina while respecting our marina tenants.

Cancellation

You may cancel your charter up to 14 days before the charter date and receive a 100% refund of your deposit. If you cancel your charter within 14 days of your charter, Raven on the Bay reserves the right to retain 100% of your deposit. The remaining balance will be returned if any funds are paid over and above the deposit amount.

Cancellation by us

Raven on the Bay will only cancel a charter under two circumstances.

  1. Mechanical failure that renders the boat non-functional or unsafe.
  2. Inclement weather that the captain deems unsafe to operate or extreme conditions that would make the charter experience very uncomfortable.

If Raven on the Bay must cancel a charter for either of the aforementioned causes, the charterer will be offered a 100% refund of all funds paid or an alternative date to return under better conditions.

Changes made to the booking

Some changes to the booking reservation, route, or additional services may be made up to the charter time. As much advance notice as possible is requested to accommodate any change requests. Change requests are approved on a case-by-case and feasibility basis.

Security deposit

No security deposit is necessary to charter Raven. However, Raven on the Bay will retain your credit card on file as security against any damage made by the charterer or guests. By accepting a reservation, the charterer also authorizes Raven on the Bay to charge their credit card for charter expenses and any damages that may occur by the actions or inactions of the charterer or their guests.

Sailing area

Unless otherwise requested by the charterer and approved by the captain, Raven will always cruise within San Diego Bay. San Diego Bay is large enough that there is no need to travel outside of the bay.

Liability

Charterer agrees to indemnify and hold Raven on the Bay, its owner, agents, and crew harmless from any liability, loss, personal injury, or property loss or damage they, or their guests, may suffer as a result of boarding, cruising, consumption of food and beverages including alcohol, and disembarking the Raven boat, whether by act of negligence or accident.

Prohibitions

Wearing, consuming, or bringing certain items aboard Raven is prohibited. This list includes but is not limited to the following: red wine, pointed or stiletto-heeled shoes, glitter and sequins in any form (garments, accessories, decorations, etc.), mylar balloons, confetti, unshelled peanuts or other unshelled nuts.

Smoking of all kinds, including vaping, e-cigarettes, tobacco, and marijuana (medical or otherwise), is prohibited aboard Raven.
